This article defines the consistency requirement for ONYX Futures accounts. There are TWO different consistency concepts, one per product family: the Standard tracks use a percentage cap (one day cannot exceed a set share of total net profit); Express to Live uses a fixed daily dollar cap during its evaluation only. State them separately and never mix the two.
Standard tracks: percentage-of-total-net-profit cap
On the Standard tracks (Sapphire/Ruby, Gold/Platinum, Flex/Flex Funded) the consistency rule caps how much of your TOTAL NET PROFIT a single trading day may represent. Key facts:
Measured against | Total NET profit (after commissions and fees), not gross. |
Losing days | Reduce total net profit, so a drawdown lowers the dollar amount your best day is allowed to be. |
Effect if breached | Does NOT fail or close the account. It holds you back: you cannot pass the evaluation (or cannot take a payout, when funded) until profit is spread more evenly across days. |
When checked (evaluation) | Measured against total net profit toward the target. |
When checked (funded) | Checked at each payout request, against total net profit. |
Level by track and phase:
Account | Consistency cap |
Sapphire (evaluation) | 40% maximum from any single day. |
Ruby (funded) | 40% maximum from any single day, checked at each payout. |
Gold (evaluation) | 40% maximum from any single day. Removable via a checkout add-on (evaluation only). |
Platinum (funded) | 40% maximum from any single day, checked at each payout. Always applies (the Gold add-on does not affect it). |
Flex (evaluation) | 50% maximum from any single day. |
Flex Funded (funded) | None. No consistency rule once funded on Flex. |
Sapphire and Ruby (40%)
A 40% cap applies during the Sapphire evaluation and continues on the Ruby funded account. No single trading day may exceed 40% of total net profit. Evaluation: measured against total net profit toward the target. Ruby funded: checked at each payout request, against total net profit.
Gold and Platinum (40%)
A 40% cap applies during the Gold evaluation and continues on the Platinum funded account, worked the same way as Sapphire/Ruby: no single day may exceed 40% of total net profit, measured toward the target during the evaluation and checked at each payout request once funded. Gold offers a checkout add-on that removes the consistency rule for the EVALUATION ONLY; the 40% Platinum payout cap still applies once funded.
Flex and Flex Funded (50% eval, none funded)
A 50% cap applies during the Flex evaluation only: no single day may exceed 50% of total net profit toward the target. Flex Funded has NO consistency rule; once funded on Flex, no consistency cap applies at payout.
Express to Live: daily dollar cap (evaluation only)
Express to Live (brand names Ruby-X and Platinum-X) does NOT use a percentage-of-total cap. It uses a fixed DAILY DOLLAR cap that applies during its EVALUATION ONLY. There is NO consistency requirement in the Express buffer phase or on the Express live account. Full program detail: Express to Live (Ruby-X and Platinum-X).
Rule type | Daily consistency cap = evaluation target / 7, rounded up. It is a fixed dollar amount, NOT a percentage. Fixed the day you start. |
Where it applies | Express EVALUATION only. Buffer phase: none. Live account: none. |
Cap by size (drawdown) | $1,000 drawdown: $286/day. $1,500: $429/day. $2,000: $572/day. $3,000: $858/day. (Express size = drawdown, not a balance. Evaluation target = 2x drawdown, so cap = 2x drawdown / 7 rounded up.) |
Overage | If your best day exceeds the cap, the evaluation target rises to (best day x 7) instead of failing the account. A big day is never wasted or penalized. |
Drawdown boost | While the account is in drawdown, the daily cap scales up to as much as 3x its base value (reaching the full 3x at the drawdown floor). Recovering never runs into the cap. |
Do not conflate
Dimension | Standard tracks | Express to Live |
Rule shape | Percentage of TOTAL net profit (40% or 50%). | Fixed DAILY dollar cap (target / 7, rounded up). |
Where it applies | Evaluation on all tracks; also at payout on Ruby and Platinum; none on Flex Funded. | Evaluation only. None in buffer, none on the live account. |
Best-day overage | No target increase; you are simply held back until profit spreads out. | Target rises to best day x 7. |
In-drawdown behavior | Losing days lower total net profit, shrinking the dollar value of the percentage cap. | Daily cap scales up to 3x while in drawdown. |
Gold add-on | Removes the consistency rule for the Gold evaluation only; Platinum payout cap still applies. | Not applicable to Express. |
