ONYX Account Types: Sapphire, Flex, Gold, and Express to Live

A scoped, side-by-side comparison of the three standard ONYX tracks (Sapphire, Flex, Gold, each leading to the coming-soon Diamond live stage) and the separate Express to Live program (Ruby-X and Platinum-X), with a Do Not Conflate table.

ONYX offers two product families: (1) three STANDARD TRACKS, each running Evaluation -> Funded -> Diamond (Diamond is the shared live program, coming soon), and (2) EXPRESS TO LIVE, a separate program that is live now and funds a real live-capital account. This article defines all four offerings and scopes every rule to the exact account family and type. Never generalize a rule across families; the standard tracks and Express to Live differ on nearly every dimension (see the Do Not Conflate table).

Express to Live is always written in full; never call it "ETL". Retired offerings that no longer exist: "Direct" (instant-funded) and "Diamond as a funded account". Diamond is only the standard tracks' shared coming-soon live stage and is NOT Express to Live.

Standard tracks: the three funded stages (Ruby, Flex Funded, Platinum) are simulated and all lead to Diamond, the shared live program, which is coming soon. Express to Live is a separate program and does not lead to Diamond.

Sapphire and Ruby (Standard track)

Stage names

Sapphire (evaluation) -> Ruby (simulated funded) -> Diamond (live, coming soon)

Drawdown

End-of-day trailing. Updates once per day at close, never intraday. Trails up with the highest close and LOCKS once it reaches the starting balance, then never moves. Breaches only if the CLOSING balance is below the threshold.

Drawdown amount by size

50K $2,000, 100K $3,000, 150K $4,500. Optional checkout extend: 50K to $2,250.

Profit target (net of commissions and fees)

50K $3,000, 100K $6,000, 150K $9,000. (25K $1,200 target exists on Flex only; Sapphire has no 25K size.)

Minimum trading days

3 (a trading day = a day with at least 1 trade). No time limit, but 14 days with no trading breaches the evaluation.

Forced daily loss limit

None. Optional personal daily loss limit up to your drawdown, enforced via Rithmic, off by default.

Consistency

40% during the Sapphire evaluation and 40% at each Ruby payout, measured against total net profit; losing days reduce it.

Sizes

50K, 100K, 150K.

Flex and Flex Funded (Standard track)

Stage names

Flex (evaluation) -> Flex Funded (simulated funded) -> Diamond (live, coming soon)

Drawdown

End-of-day trailing, same mechanics as Sapphire: updates once per day at close, never intraday, trails up with the highest close, LOCKS at the starting balance, breaches only on a closing balance below the threshold.

Drawdown amount by size

25K $1,000, 50K $2,000, 100K $3,000, 150K $4,500. Optional checkout extend: 150K to $5,000.

Profit target (net of commissions and fees)

25K $1,200, 50K $3,000, 100K $6,000, 150K $9,000.

Minimum trading days

5 (a trading day = a day with at least 1 trade). No time limit, but 14 days with no trading breaches the evaluation.

Forced daily loss limit

None. Optional personal daily loss limit up to your drawdown, off by default.

Consistency

50% during the Flex evaluation only. Flex Funded has NO consistency rule at all.

Sizes

25K, 50K, 100K, 150K.

Full rules: ONYX Flex Rules.

Gold and Platinum (Standard track)

Stage names

Gold (evaluation) -> Platinum (simulated funded) -> Diamond (live, coming soon)

Drawdown

Static floor. Fixed for the life of the account, never trails. Hard INTRADAY level: the account breaches the moment the balance touches the floor, intraday or at close.

Drawdown amount by size

50K $1,500, 100K $2,000, 150K $2,500, 200K $3,000. Optional checkout extend adds $250 per size (to 50K $1,750, 100K $2,250, 150K $2,750, 200K $3,250).

Profit target (net of commissions and fees)

50K $4,500, 100K $6,000, 150K $8,000, 200K $9,000.

Minimum trading days

3 (a trading day = a day with at least 1 trade). No time limit, but 14 days with no trading breaches the evaluation.

Forced daily loss limit

None. Optional personal daily loss limit up to your drawdown, off by default.

Consistency

40% during the Gold evaluation and 40% at each Platinum payout. Gold has a checkout add-on that removes the consistency rule for the evaluation only (not for Platinum payouts).

Sizes

50K, 100K, 150K, 200K. Gold is the only standard track that offers a 200K size.

Diamond (Standard live stage, coming soon)

Diamond is the shared live program that every standard funded stage (Ruby, Flex Funded, Platinum) leads to after funding. It is coming soon and not yet available. Diamond is a standard-track stage only; it is NOT the Express to Live program, and no standard funded account is a live-capital account (standard funded stages are simulated).

Express to Live (Ruby-X and Platinum-X)

Express to Live is a separate program, live now, with a different structure from the standard tracks. Path: buy one evaluation, pass it, build a buffer on the SAME account, then trade a real live-capital account. The evaluation and buffer are SIMULATED; only the Express live account is real live-capital trading. The two Express tracks differ by floor only: Ruby-X uses an end-of-day trailing floor that NEVER locks at breakeven (unlike standard Sapphire/Flex EOD, which locks at the starting balance), and Platinum-X uses a static floor.

Sizing

Size = your DRAWDOWN / risk budget, NOT an account balance. Available sizes: $1,000, $1,500, $2,000, $3,000.

Evaluation stage (simulated)

Target = 2x drawdown. Minimum 7 trading days. Daily loss limit = 40% of drawdown ($400 / $600 / $800 / $1,200). Daily consistency cap = target/7 rounded up ($286 / $429 / $572 / $858), evaluation only.

Consistency cap adjustments (eval)

If your best day beats the cap, the target rises to best day x 7. While in drawdown, the cap scales up to 3x.

Buffer stage (simulated)

Target = 1x drawdown. No minimum trading days. No consistency rule. Daily loss limit = 40% of drawdown.

Live account (real capital)

No consistency rule. No payout cap. DAILY payouts, $300 minimum, keep 85%. Daily loss limit is self-set. Activation fee $0.

Contracts (mini / micro)

$1,000 = 1 / 10, $1,500 = 1 / 15, $2,000 = 2 / 20, $3,000 = 3 / 30.

Accounts

Up to 6 active, capped by COMBINED drawdown of $6,000 (not by balance). Activation fee $0. A breach in the evaluation or buffer closes the account and is resettable.
