Ruby Funded Account Rules

Ruby, the simulated funded stage of the Sapphire track: EOD trailing drawdown, no forced daily loss limit, 40% consistency at each payout, weekly payouts, up-to-100% split. Not Express Ruby-X.

Ruby is the funded stage of the Sapphire standard track (Sapphire evaluation -> Ruby funded -> Diamond). You receive a Ruby account after passing a Sapphire evaluation. A Ruby account is SIMULATED (simulated firm capital); it is not a live-capital account. Ruby sizes are 50K, 100K, and 150K only. This article covers Ruby funded rules. Ruby is a standard-track account and is NOT the Express to Live "Ruby-X" account; for Express to Live see the Do Not Conflate section below.

What Carries Over from the Sapphire Evaluation

Most Sapphire evaluation rules continue on Ruby: EOD trailing drawdown, the 40% consistency rule, no forced daily loss limit, and the same contract limits and commissions by size. Once funded, weekly activity and payout rules also apply. Ruby has no profit target (targets apply to the Sapphire evaluation only) and no minimum-trading-days requirement; instead the weekly activity rule applies. See Sapphire Evaluation Rules.

End-of-Day Trailing Drawdown

Ruby uses END-OF-DAY (EOD) trailing drawdown. It updates once per day at market close, never intraday. It trails up with your highest closing balance and LOCKS once it reaches your starting balance, after which it never moves again. A breach occurs only if your CLOSING balance is at or below the threshold; intraday dips below it do not breach. This is the same EOD drawdown used on Sapphire, Flex, and Flex Funded. It is DIFFERENT from the static floor used on Gold and Platinum, and DIFFERENT from Express to Live Ruby-X (whose EOD floor never locks).

Account Size

100K

150K

Daily Loss Limit

There is no forced daily loss limit on a Ruby account. You may set an optional personal daily loss limit from the dashboard, up to the amount of your drawdown. It is enforced through Rithmic, is off by default, and can be changed for free at any time. See Daily Loss Limit (DLL).

Consistency Rule

At the time of any payout request, no single trading day may exceed 40% of your total net profit since your last payout (or since account start, before your first payout). It is measured against total NET profit, and losing days reduce that total. This rule only delays a payout until your profits balance out; it does NOT fail or breach the account. Ruby consistency applies at each payout for the life of the funded account, unlike the Flex Funded stage, which has no consistency rule. See Consistency Rule.

Profit Split

On Ruby you keep up to 100% of your profit. Your share is set by the size of each payout request (not by account size). Because Ruby has no 25K size, all three split bands are available:

Payout Request Amount

You Keep

Under $1,000

100%

$1,000 to under $2,000

90%

$2,000 and above

80%

Payout Rules

You can request one payout per calendar week, minimum $300. Requests are approved in under 24 hours or we add $300 to the payout. Payouts are sent by ACH, Wise, or crypto. Ruby has NO winning-day requirement at any point, including before your first payout (this differs from Flex Funded, which requires 5 winning days, and Platinum, which requires 4). The maximum per request and the first-payout balance requirement depend on account size:

Account Size

Max Per Request

First-Payout Balance Required

50K

$2,000

$52,000

100K

$3,000

$103,000

150K

$3,500

$154,500

Your first payout requires your balance to reach at least the full EOD drawdown above your starting balance (the "First-Payout Balance Required" above: 50K needs $52,000, 100K needs $103,000, 150K needs $154,500). After the first payout, only the per-request cap, the weekly limit, and the 40% consistency rule apply. Before your first payout you must complete KYC with a government photo ID; US traders file a W-9 and non-US traders file a W-8BEN. KYC gates payout processing only and never affects trading. See Payout Rules and KYC & Identity Verification.

Weekly Activity Requirement

A Ruby account must have at least one trade per calendar week (Sunday through Friday) to stay active. Two consecutive inactive weeks suspends the account. A trading day is any day with at least one trade. There is no time limit and no minimum number of trading days on Ruby.

Contract Limits and Commissions

Contract limits carry over from the Sapphire evaluation. Micros count as one tenth of a standard contract, and micros plus standards share one pooled limit (for example, on 50K the 5-contract limit equals 50 micros, or any mix that totals 5 standard-equivalents). Commissions are $0.10 per contract per side ($0.20 round turn).

Maximum Simultaneous Accounts

You can hold up to 10 standard accounts at one time (the 5-account cap applies only to the Gold track, not to Ruby). Each account is purchased and passed independently.

Next Stage: Diamond

Diamond is the shared live program for the standard tracks and is the stage beyond Ruby. Diamond is COMING SOON and not yet available. Diamond is a separate live stage; it is NOT a funded account itself and it is NOT the Express to Live program.

Do Not Conflate: Ruby vs Express to Live Ruby-X

Ruby (this article) is a standard-track funded account. Express to Live "Ruby-X" is a different product in the separate Express to Live program. They share the "Ruby" name and both use an EOD floor, but the rules differ on nearly every dimension. Full Express to Live detail is in Express to Live (Ruby-X and Platinum-X).
